Hairy Toes Make Life Worth Living

A brush fire started on Friday and we’ve been choking on the smoke ever since. If it’s not pollen trying to liquify me from the inside out then it’s smoke in the air. As the crow flies, we are maybe 8 or so miles from it but it’s still yucky outside here. I wish I lived in a bubble. An air conditioned bubble. With Tiny Dog. And Sweety. And my computer. But that’s it.

Speaking of Tiny Dog!

See these adorable toehawks? (like mohawks for the toes)

Toehawks.

I love it when she’s like this on my lap because it gives me unfettered access to molest the toehawks. I love to touch them. I would decorate them if I were crafty and had some teensy beads. Who cares if she’s a crying bitch in the middle of the night? She brings me cute and hairy toes! If only Sweety would let her in the bed with us so I could sniff them as I go to sleep…

Tonight is the season finale of my new guilty pleasure. Eastbound and Down. Does anybody else watch it? It took me a few episodes to not be horrified at myself for wanting to laugh at it. Now, I embrace it. I am such a fandork that I follow Kenny on Twitter. Sweety and I will randomly utter quotes from the show at each other. “I’m Kenny Fucking Powers! And you’re not!” “I’ve got a dental dam in my truck.”

Gonna go scratch my itchy eyeballs.

You have THREE dogs. I KNOW you must sit around and touch toehawks too! How could you not?

I like to hold Stinky’s paws but have never sniffed them. They are too big.

  2. Chango has Toehawks. I like to stick my fingers in between his toes and foot pad. I also play with his toehawks. I’m glad I now had a name for them.

Can you believe I’ve been a dog groomer for, oh, over 2 years, anyway, and this is the first time I’ve heard a name for the hair between the toes??? Usually, when it’s really abundant, we call it “slipper feet.” I’m gonna pull out “toehawks” tomorrow and I bet it will be a great big hit!

  6. I don’t mess with my dogs’ feet. I ‘milk their ears’ instead. They hate it.

I like to take Stinky’s ears and roll them up like taquitos. She doesn’t mind unless I accidentally bend them too much.

  7. I love, love, LOVE the term “toehawks”. You are a frackin’ genius. I play with both Fiero and Oliver’s feet as much as they’ll let me. If I didn’t know those feet had been in a litter box, I’d probably stick them in my mouth. But even I have my limits.

And Eastbound and Down? I made the Cap’n watch it when we were at the beach a few weeks ago. Because I love to hear him chuckle.
