The Beginning

A couple of things happened on Monday. My internet stalker friend, Bekah, got her plane ticket to come see me in a couple of months! Yay! Theme parks and drinking and cards! And on Monday, I got my new-to-me camera! Yay! Photos!

Both of these things happening made me realize that I needed to get busy on a project that was hatched a couple of months ago when Sweety and I went out to eat. Some of the ceiling tiles in the restaurant were decorated and I was admiring them. It occurred to me that it looked like customers had decorated them and I wondered aloud how much it would cost to put a tile of my own on display.

I wasn’t going to ask anyone though. I don’t like talking to people. Sweety (being the friendly fellow he is) asked the manager about it while we were there and guess what? It is free! The manager said that he didn’t have any spare tiles though. I’d have to wait til someone decorated one and they took a blank one out. Sweety asked if I could buy and decorate my own tile and was told yes!

So I’ve been sitting on the idea like an Easter egg. I immediately knew I wanted to showcase Chi Chi 2.0 but didn’t know how. Inspiration bit me in the ass on Monday and I went tile decoration hunting on Tuesday after work.

The Beginning

When I walked in lugging bag full of crafty supplies, Sweety instantly knew what it was for and said, “You want to do the tile before Bekah gets here so you can show it to her, don’t you? Damn, you don’t do anything without a deadline!”

We’ve got rhinestones! And glitter spray! And two kinds of hot sauce in neat bottles! And an evening gown! And devil horns!

I’m going to take a bunch of black and white photos of the hot sauce bottles and collage them on the board for the backdrop. Then there will be two photos of Chi Chi 2.0 posing with the hot sauces. She’ll wear the devil outfit to pose with the bottle that has the skull on it and an evening gown with the other bottle. The other bottle has a photo of a lion on it and I thought that would complement her leopard print gown.

I can’t wait to eat chimichangas and drink beer while my sweet Chi Chi looks down on us.

It’s gonna be great.

Sweety thought it would be a good idea to actually staple gun her to the tile but I vetoed that, no worries!

  6. If you do take pictures, please take one in the restaurant too so we can see your tile in with all of the others. When I first saw the photograph, I was wired that you were going to do something with Chi Chi 2.0 too.
