A little after 2 p.m. today I peeked in on H0t P0cket and could tell he wasn’t doing good at all. Since I gave him a bath on Friday night, he’d actually been perky Saturday and yesterday was hopping around the garage and rubbing up on me when I went out so I thought he was going to be okay.
But I could tell he dying today. I sat and talked with him for about an hour and he didn’t move much. Just moved his head around so I could pet it. He went through all of the horrible things animals do right before they expire and then he did.
Before they left, the neighbor had said if he died while they were away that we should just bury him in the wooded area behind our fence. I was afraid something would dig him up so I buried him in our backyard instead.
I’m glad that I happened to be off today so I could be there for him.

Oh Chickie, I am so sorry that he died. My heart hurts for you. I am thankful he knew he was loved and that you were there for him.

That’s so sad. It must have been very hard on you to watch him go, but it’s good he wasn’t alone and unloved in the end. You gave him something his ‘owners’ didn’t seem to have a clue how to give….good for you.

Thank you. He can’t say it any more, but I will for him. Thank you for being with him at his time. He appreciates it.

Hahahahahaha! They have 4 other grown cats (one lives on their porch) and one orange kitten that I’m sure will roam the neighborhood once he’s a little older.
I keep joking that I’m going to snip off his back leg with gardening shears and call him H0t P0cket Jr.

That is so sad. But at least he was clean and loved and had a little bit of care taken of him as he went.
Karma-wise, this is going to be bad for his so-called “owners”
