Grinchy

It looks like my sister, mom and niece won’t be coming for Christmas. Sister woke up a couple of weeks ago to a flooded house. A pipe under the sink broke and there was about 2 inches of water in the entire house. They thought everything would be fixed by Christmas but it’s not looking like it and they (she and her husband) don’t want to leave if the repairs aren’t finished.

Bah-humbug.

For some reason, it just doesn’t feel like Christmas-time to me. I think it’s the weather. It’s hard to feel Christmasish when you’re wiping away boob sweat and turning on the air conditioner.

I had other things to say but they left my head. Dammit.

  1. Sorry that your mom can’t make it. Hopefully, everything turns out OK with your sister’s house. You can always come to Ohio. We’ve had some COLD days that make you long for the burning days of summer. Is it warm enough there to get in the pool?

The pool days are behind up. I poked my foot in there the other day and it was so chilly that I couldn’t feel it!

  2. Perhaps a relocation to Texas for the Christmas season would help? Brrr… its been really cold here for a couple of weeks here now.

Its funny that you should mention this – I grew up in Australia where Christmas is in the middle of summer, and commonly you spend much of it outside, grilling, drinking and often trying to keep cool. The concept of a White Christmas was only ever something I saw on American movies until I moved to the states.

I would like to relocate to Texas for the Forever season. Florida sucks ass. And not in the good way.

It is snowing here right now – if it continues and accumulates, we may end up having a white Christmas!

I’m pretty bummed that they aren’t coming. I tried to convince them to just get in the car and start driving here today but it didn’t work.

  4. Oh My Dear Chickie! What a BUMMER! I know you were soooo looking forward to their visit….Bah Humbug, Indeed!
Truthfully, it hasn’t felt like Christmas here, except for a few days when it was Very Very Cold….!
But even with that, Christmas seems to have arrived about two months earlier than usual…! I mean, Suddenly, it was almost here! and now, it truly IS almost here….I am so not prepared in any way shape or form. Maybe I’ll just get under the covers and pretend it is NOT Christmas….

I am truyly sorry, my dear, that your Christmas got all bolexed up!
And your Mom not coming either…..That stinks!

I am just so NOT in the holiday mood. I told Sweety that I would be okay with taking the tree down today and just skipping Christmas day.

  5. That’s bad when your won thoughts are fleeing from you!

Seriously that sucks, I am so sorry. Is there no way your Mom and niece can come by themselves?

My Mom can’t drive that far by herself. We’d never hear from her again. For real.

I’m thinking of calling them and putting the phone on speakerphone on Christmas day!

  6. I am sad for you that they can not make it and I hope that the repairs get finished for their sakes. Look on the bright side, Bekah is still coming?

I hope it all works out and that you will be happy.

Start counting your blessings….yeah, I know you want to hit me, but my friend you are very blessed.

Where are the pics of the dogs?

I’m a wee bit late with the doggy holiday photos. Going to do those tomorrow night!

I know I’m blessed and I have actually been chanting the good things to myself today. I have no reason to be in such a crappy mood.
