A friend of mine is getting married mid-April and due to my mad internet skills – I’ve volunteered to find wedding favors. But she doesn’t know what she wants. It needs to be something on the relative cheap. We’d like to do something that people would actually want to use. I’ve been to lovely weddings where they had nice wedding favors but they eventually end up in the trash because I don’t know what to do with them or squirreled away in a box somewhere.
This is the second marriage for her and her fiance (they’re both widowed) and they’ve had a whirlwind courtship. And decided to have a wedding soon – why waste time when you know you’ve met The One, eh?
The theme of this is “feel the love” and yellow is her color.
I was thinking little candle holders. That’s as far as I’ve gotten in my thinking.
Give me some ideas, peeps!

I went to a wedding where they gave heart shaped cookie cutters with a sugar cookie recipe attached to the cutter. Very cheap and easy to do, but I still use that cookie cutter and it has been 14 years!

At a wedding I went to last year they had cute little paper boxes with some fancy chocolates in them as favors.
At another wedding I went to they had bottle openers in the shape of hearts as favors.
Both were totally cute and appreciated by the guests.

I vote for the chocolate… who wouldn’t “use” that?

how about a magnet? Maybe with sunflowers on it or something yellow? Everyone needs more fridge magnets right? I like the candle holder idea, like a votive size with a yellow candle in it? that would be cool.

My favorite wedding favor recently was a uniquely shaped stress “ball” with the name of the bride and groom on it. It matched one of the themes of the wedding and was so cute I really wanted several.

Okay. “ORIENTAL TRADING” which is on the Internet has reasonable stuff for every occassion…including Weddings. Some of it is crap…And some of it is really fun and good. READ ALL REVIEWS!
They tell you what is good and what isn’t. The things are truly reasonable if a lot of people are expected. It’s worth a “look-see”. If they want something much better….Well, I don’t have any suggestions.
I get ALL my “Ladies Who Lunch” Gift bag items from Oriental Trading.
And many of the things ARE Usable!

Thanks, everyone! You’ve all given me some great ideas and places to look!
And she moved the wedding date into mid-May so it gives me more time to look. Yay!

Hi,
My advice is look for practical favors like measuring spoon, bottle stopper or any kind of kitchen favors. They seem to be very popular in the past years. You might also want to check : http://decor24.blogspot.com/ they always have nice product reviews. Hope this helps.
