New Hairdo

I went in planning on doing light highlights. I’d told my stylist that I wanted to do blue streaks and she had some blue dye and we decided to do that instead. I know if you want a really vibrant color that you need to totally bleach out your hair and wanted to avoid that. She did the blue on my normal hair and colored the rest like I normally do (to hide the gray) and you couldn’t see the blue at all.

Then I was kind of bummed because I wanted some color! I told her that I really didn’t want to strip out my hair today because I’ve heard so many things about how horrible that is for your hair and it took FOREVER to get my hair looking normal after spending a lot of time highlighting it. So she said we could bleach it a little and the blue should grab on but not be too bright. That was okay. I didn’t want it too bright because I was afraid that Sweety was going to shit his pants when he saw it. I wanted subtle blue. This time. Heh.

Instead it came out crayon green. And I’m okay with it. It was really a toss-up between blue or green from the start because I like both colors. When she saw it, she said if I really wanted blue that she’d strip it out today and redo it. I told her no because I really do like the color green.

But does it look like it was caused by being in a swimming pool for too long?

I can’t get a decent photo of this. The first one had no flash on the camera and the second one did.

I like it! It looks nothing like chlorine hair. And you’re still beautiful imho.

  3. No, it doesn’t look like it was caused by being in a swimming pool for too long. It just looks like a new hairdo. If you’re bold and adventurous, you can do anything that you want with your hair. I know several women who completely change their hair color every single time they go to the salon. Blue, green, black, red, purple, multi-colored. It’s just their style.

I’ve never seen pool green hair before and I couldn’t find anything on Google to compare it to so I wasn’t sure!

  5. My hair dresser put dark royal blue in this a woman’s hair. Her hair was dyed jet black and it looked good.

I like your color. I agree with you about all that high lighting. I am done with my highlights and it does take forever for it to grow off. Chickie, you are so beautiful that you could have rainbow colored high lights and it would only enhance your beauty.

Between the summer of my jr. and sr. year I decided I wanted to be blond. I had long dark brown hair and by the time she finished I had short blond hair. It was aful, I bought a blond wig. Can’t you just see me as a blond? LOL!

    Love you kiddo

No, I can’t imagine you as a blond. You are a brunette!!

And holy cow, how messed up must your hair have been to go with a wig?! I dyed and treated my hair so much when I was in school, it’s a wonder that it didn’t fall out!

  7. Yes, my first thought is still pool green hair. I love the idea of the blue. My sister used to use Manic Panic, and never had an issue with it not taking, or with it changing colors. What brand did you use?

I’m pretty sure the brand name was Beyond The Zone. Next time, I’m going to let her strip it out and then color it. I’ll do that when I get home from visiting my family in a few weeks.

I’ve always said I wanted either blue or green streaks so I waffled a few times when we were talking about what color. When it came out green, I figured it was a sign to go green for awhile.

  8. Well, all I see are two little pretty streaks of light green….I like it, but I wish I could see more! Maybe someone could get a picture of your hair that shows more…Or maybe it’s my computer! Whatever you do, my dear, it’s going to look GREAT! Cause it does right now–and so do you!

The only other person is Sweety and he is very much not pleased with the green hair so I can’t ask him to take a photo.

  9. It was all i could do yesterday to not reach out and touch it. But I figured Sweety and Palmer would both find that a little odd. I love it!

  12. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
