What has four thumbs, four eyes, and two ringworms?
You’re wrong unless you guessed me and Bean!
A little gift that came over from the coaew’s house. Apparently, all 7 kids over there got it. Some of the little ones had it so bad that their hair was falling out.
When we were on vacation, one of the boys noticed a weird itchy spot but didn’t mention it to us because he thought it was just a bug bite or something. Found out when he got back to her house that it was going around over there and that’s what his “bug bite” was.
I must admit that just this once, I’d have liked a call from the coaew while we were on vacation to give us a warning that that was at their house and to see if the boys noticed anything weird.
I was so pleased that it seemed our household was unscathed!
Eczema visits me occasionally and when I got an itchy spot on my arm that’s what it looked like at first and what I assumed it was. The next morning, we noticed a mark on Bean and that’s when it clicked in my head. The spot on her back corresponds with where my arm rests on her when we sleep. I’m really glad that we caught it before it spread and I’m glad it’s not somewhere that she can see and notice it. That probably has helped greatly in keeping it from getting worse.
For the first couple of days on mine, I took a scorch the earth approach and pretty much applied so many different kinds of things to try and get rid of it that I gave myself a chemical burn. It looks like a cigar was stubbed out on me. (I even contemplated doing that to get rid of it. I rationalized it by remembering that I had a mole sliced off without anesthesia while pregnant with Bean and that took maybe a minute. I figured a burn to get a fucking skin fungus off of me would be about the same. My fear of fire won and I didn’t follow through.)
The coaew had an extra tube of the stuff they were prescribed to get rid of it and Sweety fetched it. Normally, I’d eat glass before accepting anything from her but since it would be helpful to Bean, I took it. If it had just been me with it? Well, maybe I would have burned it off. We’ve been using it for a day and I can already tell that it’s going away. Yay!
Hey, believe me when I tell you that you don’t want to fall down the rabbithole on YouTube looking at videos of ringworm. It leads to awful places. DID YOU KNOW THAT PEOPLE VIDEO THEMSELVES PULLING SCABS OFF?! Gah. Some things cannot be unseen.
